Memorial Day Patriotic Symphony Salute
The Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra salutes veterans with a special performance. This annual observance of Memorial Day happens at City Pier Park. It starts at 10 a.m. and lasts an hour and a half. The special event also involves a flag presentation by the US Marine Corps. Enjoy complimentary refreshments, too!
Tribute to the Heroes
Join the locals of Lakewood Ranch as they honor our nation’s heroes. The tribute starts with a pre-party at 6 p.m., with the parade typically lasting until 10 p.m. The parade is on Main Street in Bradenton. Though not on the island, it is worth the trip and a good time. Lakewood Ranch is a 46-minute drive from Anna Maria Island via FL-64 W.
The parade draws in a big crowd, so head to the venue before the pre-party when there are fewer people. You can stay until the end or wander off to sample homemade goodies from local vendors.
